Thalassaphobia

Thalassophobia is the irrational fear of deep waters such as the ocean, often people confound this for aquaphobia, the fear of any amount of water

Thalassophobia is, as all good words are, of Greek origin, Thalassa, the Greek noun for the spirit of the sea, and im going to assume you know what a phobia is.

He sat upon the edge of an oil rig, the day was clear though as per usual in the middle of the ocean, the waves were that of a deep storm

Poseidon was angered today though Dean had seen him worse, the ocean was a sickening shade of dark blue and the air would burn your nostrils if you had the misfortune of breathing from your nose

An amateurs mistake that Dean wouldnt dare commit, he was as weathered as the Irish flag that blew from above his tugboat, even more so perhaps due to the fact that he’d been around longer

He saw a dark shadow befall the horizon, a welcome sign to an oncoming storm, he;d seen many though this one delivered an unusual feeling of dread, it instilled a feeling that Dean hadn’t felt in many many years, it scraped years of rust off of the heart of the old sailor making him feel as if he were a boy again

Perhaps because this feeling was familiar to his childhood, this feeling terrified him, it poked his bones with needles and debilitated him removing his ability to stand

He screamed

" It’s coming shes back!

He fell off of the edge into the darkness below.
